Bannock (Quick Bread)
Ingredients:
6 cups flour
1cup lard
3 Tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup currants
2-3 cups water
Method:
Mix flour and lard. Add baking powder, salt, currants. Add water a half a cup at a time, kneading mix until moist (I ended up using 2.5cups). Take some dough in hand, flatten to 0.25″ thick in whatever shape, size desired. Bake in Earl’s oven at pre-destined temperature until you remember that you forgot the bread in the oven. Alternatively, cook on a stick over a campfire.
